Small Claims Court

You are here: Home - Areas of Practice - Small Claims Court

The maximum amount to sue for in provincial small claims court remains at $25,000.00, and any claim that you want to make in excess of this amount must be pursued in the Supreme Court, where we highly suggest that you obtain a lawyer.
Small Claims court was created as the forum for regular people to attend without the need of legal counsel, but with the law becoming more complex, it is often worth your while to invest in legal advice and experience–unless of course $25,000.00 is not important to you.
At the Courtyard Law Offices, the only difference we see between a Small Claims court case and one pursued in Supreme Court is the amount of the claim.  Our hardwork and dedication will definitely be to your advantage in the court room while pursuing your case.
